EKU Power Drives · Competitive radar · Evidence cut 9 September 2026 · Day 70 of 90

Two of your rivals moved onto Sophia's floor in the last four weeks. Not one of them can run your customer's site as one system. That seat is still yours to take, and it does not stay open on your calendar.

Nine product moves, each checked against the rival's own press release, release note or product page on 4 and 9 September. Below the radar: the five conclusions the data will not let us soften, and the fifteen marks that turn them into a website and a proof the market can find.

What you are looking at. Think of an airport radar. The center is the Maximus and Sophia runway. Dots on the inner ring are heading toward it. Dots on the outer ring are strong in one layer and far from the center. The sector tells you which floor of the market each one competes on. Magenta marks what is new since the previous cut. What it means for EKU

  • The threat comes by architecture and cloud.EnergetIQ mirrors Maximus inside the mtu ecosystem. ComAp, Rehlko and Generac make monitoring and analytics easy to buy: trials, bundles, a Spanish interface, a changelog every two weeks.
  • Analytics stops being a differentiator the day three rivals sell it as a feature.Unless Sophia is shown acting inside the control loop, a buyer sees one more dashboard. Working Hypothesis
  • The window closes on their calendar, not EKU's.Two events would end the empty seat: mtu publishing a mixed-brand claim, or Generac integrating Deep Sea controllers into Link Manager. Neither has happened. Both are watch items. Needs Validation on the Deep Sea item.
  • Nobody claims the center. In their own documents, no rival sells orchestration of a mixed-brand fleet. The claim is EKU's to prove. Confirmed for competitor facts.
0 of 5,176AI answers naming EKU when the buyer describes the problem. 503 of 744 when the brand is named. Jul to Aug 2026.
19 vs 439Buyer search terms where EKU ranks, against DEIF. Kanbina dataset, Jul to Aug 2026.
3Competitor moves into analytics and monitoring since 4 September: ComAp, Rehlko, Generac. Confirmed against their own releases.
0Rivals claiming mixed-brand orchestration in their own documents. The seat is empty. It is EKU's to prove, not the market's to grant.

Every dot on the radar, with its date and the kind of evidence behind it. A documentation date is never turned into a launch date. Competitor figures are their own claims.

Five conclusions the data will not let us soften.

Each one is a number, an instrument and a date. None is an opinion. Read them as the buyer reads them, because the buyer already does.

1

The buyer describes the problem 5,176 times and never hears EKU's name. Type the name and EKU answers 503 of 744.

AI visibility baseline, July to August 2026. Confirmed EKU is described correctly on 89 technical attributes, only when the name is already in the question. What is it costing you today that every prospect who does not already know Edward is being introduced to a competitor first?

2

DEIF ranks for 439 buyer terms. EKU ranks for 19. Same market, 23 times more doors.

Kanbina market intelligence dataset, July to August 2026. Confirmed Site authority 18 against 29 to 37 for direct rivals. These are not product scores; they measure whether the market can find EKU when it looks for the problem.

3

Sophia's floor went from open to contested in four weeks. Three rivals now sell analytics as a feature.

ComAp Advanced Reporting (2 Sep), Rehlko Power Plus (11 Aug), Generac trending (2026 release train). Confirmed against their own releases. Unless Sophia is shown acting inside the control loop, a buyer sees one more dashboard. Working Hypothesis on the Sophia positioning.

4

24 brands publish case studies. Zero publish a mixed-brand case with numbers. The headline is lying on the floor.

Case study landscape, primary sources 2 to 4 September, revalidated 9 September. Confirmed The only rival that shows two engine brands running together calls it "flexibility". One EKU case with one measured percentage out-proves ComAp, DSE and DEIF at once.

5

A third-party buyer's guide makes EKU's argument, ranks six platforms, and does not list EKU. 0 of 6.

Electrical Trader, 17 August 2026. Confirmed The guide tells operators to check controller, gateway and connectivity before the generator brand. Rivals are on it because they publish open documents; EKU's sit behind a download form.

The reframe.

EKU's problem was never "we need more marketing". It is that the market is making the buying decision on two layers, documentation and analytics, that EKU has and does not publish. Every quarter that stays true, a rival's announcement can close the empty seat. The fix is authorization and a few pages, not a new product. Everything on this page is figure-out-able in ten minutes of your marks.

Everyone owns a floor. The floor that decides the deal is empty, and it is the one EKU already built.

Maximus does not lose for being "another controller". It loses if the market never learns that it runs the whole site.

  • 5
System orchestration: gensets, batteries, solar and switchgear as oneMaximus claim. Closest rival mtu EnergetIQ, inside its own ecosystem. Empty in every rival's documents.
  • 4
Analytics and decisionsSophia. Now contested by ComAp Advanced Reporting, Rehlko Power Plus and Generac trending.
  • 3
Fleet cloud, monitoring and remote dispatchGenerac Link Manager, Trackunit, Rehlko Power Plus, ComAp WebSupervisor.
  • 2
Controller proof and certificationDEIF, ComAp, Rehlko APM804. Open documentation is why they get cited.
  • 1
Interface and SCADA hardwareDSE DSEG810. Tangible, easy to understand, easy to buy.

The weakness is public proof, not product.

Think of a city map that a taxi driver uses. DEIF, ComAp and DSE are on it because they publish open manuals and dated release notes. Generac publishes a changelog every two weeks. EKU's technical documents sit behind a download form, so writers and AI assistants have nothing to quote. A third-party buyer's guide published on 17 August tells operators to check the controller, the gateway and connectivity before the generator brand. That is EKU's own argument, written by someone else, and EKU is not on it: 0 of 6.

Position on the top floor: Working Hypothesis until validations E1 to E4 close.

The market is not waiting for a better product. It is waiting for three sentences only you can say.

The research is done. The words, the pages and the plan are built. What is missing are three authorizations only EKU can give. If they were already given, what would be live on 29 September that is not live today?

Name the Power Generation case customer.

Anonymized is fine for version 1. One voice note: segment, fleet size and brands, the trigger, what was installed, one measurable outcome, one sentence, may they be named.

Unlocks the first published proof and validation E3. The Maximus page ships with evidence instead of "coming soon".

Release the architecture at the agreed level.

Own hardware, firmware and software. Signals digitized at the asset, aggregated locally, synced to the cloud. A digital twin of the site. Alerts to a command center. Internal code names stay internal.

Unlocks the Maximus "how it works" page and validation E1.

Assign four owners with dates.

Architecture map (Product and Engineering). Controller and protocol list (Sales and Legal). Case metrics (Customer and Sales). GeneSys role in the story (Product and Engineering).

Unlocks the 90-day plan after handover.

And one thing that changes the shape of the revenue map

Three numbers only EKU knows: small, medium and large deal ranges, and typical time to close. Without them the map is ranked by where buyers search; with them, by where the money is and when it lands. Relative bands (1x, 5x, 20x) work if EKU prefers not to share values. Read the two-minute data note.

Doors that are open todaygenerator monitoring system, generator control panel, remote generator monitoring: measured demand, nobody strong, EKU absent.
Doors that are crowdeddata center power solutions, commercial generators: high demand, Caterpillar, Schneider and Vertiv occupy. Seed now, harvest 2027.
The door EKU already ownsidle management: page 1 organically. Say it early in every mining conversation, then bridge to the whole mixed-brand fleet.

Fifteen marks, ten minutes. The difference between a website that describes EKU and one that gets found.

Mark each line OK, Edit or No, then generate the reply at the bottom and send it by email or paste it into WhatsApp. "OK" means good to go as written. Nothing goes public until it carries your OK.

0 of 15 marked

A · Words that go public on 29 September

1

"Mixed-brand generator fleets" is the buyer descriptor in all public copy. Already voted 25 August; this confirms it for the website.

Unlocks: homepage, Maximus page, all product pages.
2

Power Asset Readiness may appear on public pages as the category name. Today it is validated for conversations and the category page draft only.

Unlocks: category page goes live; the homepage headline can use it. If No, the site leads with the buyer descriptor.
3

The compatibility list from the Control Box datasheet (Caterpillar, INNIO/Waukesha, Jenbacher, MTU, Baker Hughes, Solar Turbines, GE, Vericor, Weichai) appears on the homepage, framed as technical compatibility, never as partnership.

Unlocks: the compatibility strip; validation E2.
4

About page facts: founded 2015; 70+ employees; Germany, USA, Bolivia, Argentina; ISO 9001:2015, IEC/EN, UL, CE; in Power Generation since 2023; GeneSys launched 2025. Confirm the employee number you want public.

Unlocks: About page and the canonical description everywhere.
5

Blocks. The architecture may be described publicly at this level: own control hardware, firmware and application software; signals digitized at the asset, aggregated locally, synced to the cloud; a digital twin of the site; alerts to a command center. Internal code names stay internal.

Unlocks: Maximus "how it works"; validation E1.
6

Automatic regulation of assets (beyond alerts) stays off the website until it ships.

Protects the roadmap claim.
7

Google Business Profile description, 157 characters: "Controls, monitoring and lifecycle support for mixed-brand generator fleets. Maximus and Sophia, from chip to cloud. Founded 2015. Germany and Spring, Texas."

Unlocks: Google listing updates this week.

B · Proof

8

Blocks. The Power Generation customer you mentioned becomes case study number one, anonymized in version 1 ("a [segment] operator in [region]"). A two-minute voice note covers it.

Unlocks: the first published Power Generation proof; validation E3.
9

Sales arguments for conversations and battlecards, not for the website: train the team once and they operate every asset regardless of brand; one purchase replaces several component purchases; availability penalties in data centers exceed the cost of Maximus plus the specialist staff it replaces.

Unlocks: battlecards, first batch. The third argument needs one real example before use.
10

Technical documents (datasheets, protocols, compatibility, FAQs) may be published without a download form.

Unlocks: the evidence hub, the reason ComAp, DEIF and DSE are cited by AI assistants and EKU is not.
11

Comparison content stays generic ("genset controller vs site-level orchestration") and never names an OEM product, unless you sign off a named page separately.

Unlocks: the "alternatives" searches without a channel conflict.

C · Owners and numbers

12

Blocks. One owner and one date each: architecture map (Product and Engineering), controller and protocol list (Sales and Legal), case metrics (Customer and Sales), GeneSys role (Product and Engineering).

Unlocks: the 90-day plan after handover.
13

Deal ranges in Power Generation: small, medium, large and typical time to close. Ranges or relative bands are enough. One reference account is fine if you say so.

Unlocks: the revenue opportunity map ranked by value and time. Data note.
14

Amanda registers four defensive domains (powerassetreadiness .com, .ai, .net and powerdrive.com), redirecting to ekupd.com.

Unlocks: nobody else registers the category name first.
15

Verify the scope note: the full 24-brand Maximus Master Battlecard, the media playbook and the launch radar are being built beyond the current scope, for the sales force and the website release, with the next phase in mind. OK means you want them maintained and handed over; Edit means tell me what to keep; No means they stop at the first batch.

Unlocks: continuity of the competitive program after 29 September. Battlecard section.

What happens on the next call when the buyer says "we already use ComAp"? Six answers, one rule: compare on architecture, never on brands.

Six situations the field meets, and for each one: what the rival says, where they truly win, and what EKU says back. Several of these companies are also potential packager and OEM channel partners; the comparison is always about which floor of the building a product lives on, not about who is better.

Scope note, for you to verify (checklist line 15). The full 24-brand Maximus Master Battlecard v1.3 is not a deliverable of the current engagement; the scope covers the messaging system and a first battlecard batch from the field answers. The full library, the media playbook and the launch radar are being built now for the sales force and the website release, with the next phase in mind, so nothing is lost at handover. It is a working document: every EKU claim in it stays Working Hypothesis until the D05 claims sign-off.
The one-line company answer, for every conversation. "Controllers run a machine. Telematics watch a fleet. OEM clouds run their own brand. Maximus runs your whole mixed-brand generator fleet, gensets, engines and batteries, as one system, with Sophia analytics inside it." Working Hypothesis until D05 sign-off
The opening question that sorts every conversation. "How many different generator brands are in your fleet today?" One brand: the OEM's own cloud is probably enough. More than one: a Maximus conversation. Ask it before any product name is spoken.

Controller makers with a cloudComAp, Deep Sea Electronics, DEIF, Woodward, Basler

They say
Proven controllers, open documentation, a monitoring portal for sites built on their hardware.
They win
Floors 1 and 2: the device and its certification. Buyers can compare them because everything is published.
EKU says
Maximus runs above the controller, whichever brand it is. Point to the compatibility list, then to the site-level view: one screen, every asset, one trained team.
Watch
ComAp Advanced Reporting (2 Sep 2026) adds analytics on ComAp-controlled sites. Reports after the fact; does not control.

OEM cloudsCaterpillar, Cummins, Kohler / Rehlko, mtu

They say
Everything from one brand, one service contract, one app.
They win
Inside their own fleet. Single-brand sites have little reason to add a layer.
EKU says
Most real fleets are not single-brand. Maximus is the layer that lets the OEM's assets and everyone else's run as one system. Framed as complement, never as replacement; these are channel partners as often as rivals.
Watch
Rehlko Power Plus (11 Aug 2026) now monitors "supported third-party equipment". Monitoring, not orchestration.

Generac Link ManagerThe sharpest monitoring threat

They say
Mixed OEM monitoring and remote dispatch "no matter the make or model", free three-month trial, Spanish interface, public changelog.
They win
Floor 3: easy to buy, easy to start, strong in standby and rental fleets.
EKU says
Dispatch is not orchestration. Link Manager tells a generator to start; Maximus decides how gensets, batteries, solar and switchgear share the load, on site, without waiting for the cloud. Ask what happens when the connection drops.
Watch
A possible Deep Sea controller integration. Needs Validation

mtu EnergetIQThe closest architectural mirror

They say
Manager, asset controllers, redundancy and AI optimization for PV, wind, batteries and engines.
They win
Sites designed around mtu, data-center scale, a named engineer on camera.
EKU says
Same floor, different door: EnergetIQ orchestrates the mtu ecosystem; Maximus orchestrates a mixed-brand fleet, including retrofit on assets already owned. No mixed-brand claim in any mtu document to date.
Watch
The day mtu publishes a mixed-brand claim, the empty seat closes. Quarterly review.

Telematics and fleet dataTrackunit, ORBCOMM, UNUM Genset

They say
Every asset connected, data in natural language, millions of units.
They win
Floor 3 for construction and rental; the category language ("Eliminate Downtime") and the open developer hub.
EKU says
They see the fleet; they do not control the electrical system. Sophia gives the same visibility inside a platform that also acts. For Sophia to stay a differentiator it must be shown acting inside the control loop, not as one more dashboard.
Watch
UNUM is the cross-brand reference in the third-party buyer's guide; EKU is not listed yet. OmniMetrix, monitoring only, now holds the top organic result for "generator remote monitoring" (added v1.3).

Power as a serviceVoltaGrid, Aggreko, Enerflex, one direct complete-power competitor

They say
We bring the megawatts; you pay for power, not equipment.
They win
Hyperscale data centers and oilfield sites with capital behind them; borrowed authority from co-announcements.
EKU says
For operators who already own the equipment, or cannot fund a service contract at that scale: unlock the capacity you have. Two framings, never blurred: the financial buyer hears subscription instead of upfront cost; the operator hears hidden capacity of assets already owned.
Watch
One of these players is paying for placement on Google and inside AI assistants. Needs Validation
Say
  • Mixed-brand generator fleets
  • Controls and monitoring for mixed-brand generator fleets
  • Generator controls, remote monitoring, condition monitoring, fleet management, industrial idle management
  • Chip to cloud, as the proof under the story
  • "How many generator brands are in your fleet today?"
Do not say
  • "OEM agnostic", "any OEM", "any brand", "multi-OEM", "full stack", "end-to-end platform"
  • "Only company", "13 years", any superlative
  • Maximus as "a genset controller" (that is the rivals' floor)
  • Customer names, installation counts, savings or revenue figures without written approval
  • Anything that reads as an attack on a compatible OEM
The layer line"Everyone in this market sells a piece: a controller, a dashboard, a rental fleet. Maximus is the layer that makes the pieces work as one system."
The watching versus running line"Telematics is a smoke detector. Maximus is the sprinkler system. Sophia is both, plus the incident report."
The retrofit line"Nobody budgets a rip-and-replace. Maximus bolts onto the fleet you already own." Site counts only with the figure signed off in D05.

Five questions that tilt any evaluation: how many brands in your fleet today and in three years; who acts on an idle alert at 2 a.m.; what happens to your monitoring when you add batteries or solar; can you keep your existing controllers; what did idle fuel cost you last quarter.

Sales arguments pending your mark on line 9: train once and operate every brand; one purchase replaces several; availability penalties exceed the cost of Maximus plus specialist staff (needs one real example first). Battlecards batch 1 adds the field's own objections from the questionnaire. Full version: Maximus Master Battlecard v1.3, in the documents below.

The cheapest proof asset in this market is one Power Generation case with one number. Nobody has published it. EKU has it in hand.

All 24 tracked brands were audited on four fronts: case studies, video and LinkedIn, content strategy and PR. Everyone publishes cases. Nobody publishes a mixed-brand case with numbers. The ones that quantify sell energy or telematics; the ones that compete with Maximus show installations without results. Zero case studies on the site today; the open window is Power Generation.

What you are looking at. A case study is a witness in a trial. Aggreko brings witnesses with exact figures. ComAp, DSE and DEIF bring witnesses who only say "I was there". The jury, the buyer and the AI engine, believes the one with numbers. Confirmed primary sources 2 to 4 September, revalidated 9 September.
One number beats three competitorsNo control maker publishes outcomes. EKU's first case with a measured percentage out-proves ComAp, DSE and DEIF at once.
The mixed-brand headline is orphanedAcross 24 brands, nobody headlines it. ComAp's strongest case runs two engine brands together and calls it "flexibility". They have EKU's story and do not know it.
Analytics ROI is absent in the whole category"Same fleet, better numbers" is claimed by no one. The winning format is known: an open HTML page with a named executive quote, plus a two-page PDF, under a URL that is never allowed to break.

What ships on 29 September, and what turns the empty seat into a defended position by March.

Two boxes, kept apart on purpose. The left one is the current engagement. The right one is a recommendation for the 12-month roadmap; owners, dates and support are to be agreed.

Delivered under the current scope, by 29 September

  • Website language and structure: vocabulary, message hierarchy, page copy, schema and FAQ. Implementation on the site is executed by Amanda.
  • Maximus page with proof: the anonymized case (decision 8), or the technical "how it works" section (decision 5) if the case is not ready.
  • Battlecards, first batch, from the field answers received.
  • Packager sales play.
  • Revenue opportunity map (decision 13), 12-month roadmap, priority stack, executive handover.
  • Day 90 measurement against the Day 0 baseline: authority, ranked terms, AI panel.

Recommended next phase, not in the current scope

  • Publish the architecture map (E1, E4).
  • Open a technical evidence hub without a form: documents, protocols, compatibility, FAQs, changelog.
  • Generic comparison pages and a pitch to the buyer's guide for an update that includes EKU.
  • Battlecards batch 2 and external buyer interviews.
  • AI visibility program in operation: monthly prompt waves, third-party record corrections.
  • Day 150 and Day 180 measurement; assisted pipeline reporting.

Three actions this week, each with its document. Everything else can wait for the handover.

Strategic conclusion

EKU already occupies a position no rival documents: running a mixed-brand site as one system. Its commercial problem is that the market cannot find or compare it, because the words on the site are not the words buyers type and the proof is not public. Every quarter the seat stays unclaimed in public, a competitor's announcement can close it. The cost of the fix is authorization and a few pages, not a new product.

Validation status: competitor facts Confirmed against primary sources dated 4 and 9 September 2026. EKU's category position Working Hypothesis until decisions 3, 5, 8 and 12 are marked. Case study, deal ranges and the Deep Sea integration in Link Manager Needs Validation.
